Buying for someone who lives at the gym is harder than it looks. They already own the shaker bottle, the lifting belt and the headphones. What they probably don't have enough of is stuff they actually like wearing to and from the gym, on rest days, and everywhere in between.
That's where we come in. We're XUSI, an Indigenous-owned clothing company started in 2020 by two brothers in Saskatoon, on Treaty 6 territory. Everything in this list is under $60 (CAD), and it works for any occasion: a birthday, a thank-you for a coach, or a welcome gift for someone who just signed up for their first membership.

Why each piece suits someone who trains
Baby rib tees ($24.95)
Our women's Black Rose and White Rose baby rib tees are 100% cotton with a slim fit. That closer cut is handy for anyone who doesn't want extra fabric bunching up during mobility work or stretching.
They're also the easiest way to stay well under budget. Good for a coworker who just started going to classes, or as a small add-on to a bigger gift.
Golden Era ringer tees ($39.95)
The ringers are a 50/50 cotton-poly blend with a classic fit. The contrast collar and cuffs give them an old-school gym look that plenty of people who train already love.
The blend matters here. Cotton is breathable and absorbent, while polyester doesn't absorb perspiration, so a 50/50 mix sits somewhere in the middle. It's a comfortable pick for warm-ups and easier sessions.
Buffalo A-Frame snapback ($44.95)
This is our embroidered snapback. The adjustable snap back means you don't need to guess a hat size, which makes it one of the safest gifts on this list.
It's a good fit for runners who train outside, anyone who lifts at a garage gym with the door open, or the person who throws a hat on before the 6 a.m. class and calls it done.
Standard tees ($49.95)
Most of our tees are 100% cotton, shrink free, with a heavy and sturdy feel and a generous fit. That roomier cut gives shoulders and arms space to move on bench, overhead press or pull-up day.
Here's the honest trade-off. Heavy cotton soaks up sweat instead of shedding it, so for a long, sweaty cardio session a synthetic shirt will feel lighter. For lifting, walking to the gym, or wearing out after, a sturdy cotton tee is hard to beat. Many of our designs carry a Cree word and a story, which you can read about on our Meanings page before you choose. Browse them all in tees.
Black Oni long sleeve ($54.95)
Our designs draw on Indigenous culture and Japanese style, and the Black Oni long sleeve leans into that Japanese side. It's the one we'd pick for someone who trains early and walks into a cold gym, or who runs outside in spring and fall.
A long sleeve is also a nice middle ground if you're not sure whether they'd rather have a tee or a hoodie.
Prosperity Saddle hoodie ($59.95)
Right at the top of our budget, the Prosperity Saddle hoodie is an 80/20 blend. Every gym person needs a hoodie for the walk in, the first few warm-up sets, and the drive home when they're cooling down.
If you've only got one shot at a gift, this is our pick. You can see the rest of our hoodies in hoodies, though some sit above $60.
Digital gift card ($50)
No shame in the gift card. People who train can be fussy about fit, and a digital gift card lets them pick their own size and design. It also arrives by email, so it works for last-minute birthdays.
Match the gift to the occasion
- A new gym member: Canada's movement guidelines for adults suggest muscle-strengthening activities at least twice a week, so someone who's just started will be back often. A standard tee or the Prosperity Saddle hoodie gives them something they'll look forward to wearing.
- A coach or trainer thank-you: Coaches wear their own clothes on the floor all day. The Buffalo snapback or a Golden Era ringer is a thoughtful, practical thank-you that doesn't feel over the top.
- A birthday for the serious lifter: Go with the hoodie or the Black Oni long sleeve. They'll wear it year-round.
- A group gift from the class: Pool together for two items and you'll clear free shipping (more on that below).
Pairing ideas that get you free shipping
We offer free shipping on orders of $90 or more in Canada. None of our under-$60 items get there alone, but a lot of two-item combos do.
- Standard tee + Buffalo snapback: $94.90. The classic gym outfit.
- Golden Era ringer + Black Oni long sleeve: $94.90. One for warm days, one for cold ones.
- Golden Era ringer + Prosperity Saddle hoodie: $99.90. A full layering set.
- Standard tee + Prosperity Saddle hoodie: $109.90. Our favourite combo for a new member.
One heads-up: a Golden Era ringer plus a standard tee comes to $89.90, which is ten cents short. Swap one piece and you're over. If you're in Saskatoon, local pickup is another option.
Sizing tips when it's a surprise
Sizing is where most clothing gifts go wrong, so here's what we'd do.
- Check a shirt they already wear. Lay it flat, measure chest and length, and compare it against our size guide.
- Know the fit of each piece. Standard tees run generous, ringers are a classic fit, and the baby rib tees are slim. Someone who likes their tee snug in the arms may want to size down in a standard tee; someone who prefers room may want to size up in a baby rib.
- Think about their build. People who lift a lot often have broad shoulders and chest. If you're stuck between two sizes, the bigger one is usually the safer call for tops.
- When in doubt, go hat or gift card. The snapback adjusts and the gift card lets them choose.
