Which hoodie should you get? It's a fair question. We carry three warm pieces right now, and they're more different than they look in photos. Two are pullover hoodies, one is a crewneck, and they range from $59.95 to $89.95.
So here's the honest breakdown. We'll cover fabric, fit, design and price, then tell you which one we'd pick for training, everyday wear, gifting and the cold days that Saskatchewan hands out every winter.
The three pieces at a glance
Here's the short version, straight from our product pages and size guide.
| Piece | Price (CAD) | Fabric | Fit | Colour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rose hoodie | $89.95 | 80% cotton, 20% polyester | Classic | Washed grey |
| Prosperity Saddle hoodie | $59.95 | 80% cotton, 20% polyester | Classic | Saddle brown |
| Revitalize Culture crewneck | $89.95 | 70% cotton, 30% polyester | Relaxed | See product photos |
All three are printed front and back. All three get the same care: wash cold, inside out, hang to dry.
Fabric: what the blends mean for you
Both hoodies are an 80/20 cotton-poly blend. That's a lot of cotton, so they feel soft and breathe well, and the bit of polyester helps them hold their shape after you've worn them a hundred times.
The crewneck is 70/30. A little more polyester in the mix. Our product page describes it as heavier and warmer than our tees, and it's built for cold mornings.
What does that mean day to day? Honestly, the difference in the blend is small. You'll notice the cut and the hood (or lack of one) far more than you'll notice ten percent of polyester. Don't overthink this part.
Fit: classic versus relaxed
This is where the real decision is. Our hoodies are a classic fit. They sit the way you'd expect a pullover hoodie to sit: not tight, not baggy.
The crewneck is a relaxed fit. It's roomier through the body, the kind of sweatshirt you throw on over a tee without thinking about it.
A few practical tips from us:
- If you like your hoodies loose and slouchy, size up one in either hoodie.
- If you're in between sizes on the crewneck, take the smaller one. The relaxed cut already gives you room.
- If you plan to layer a hoodie over a heavy tee, go with your usual size or one up, not down.
- Grab a sweatshirt you already love, lay it flat and measure it. Then compare it with our size guide. That's more reliable than guessing from a label.
All three run Small to XXLarge.
Design: what's on each one
Rose hoodie
The Rose hoodie is a washed grey pullover. There's a small XUSI script on the chest, and on the back a red rose with a white XUSI script across it. It has a front pouch pocket and a drawstring hood. It's the warm version of our rose design, and the Cree word tied to it is on the product page and our Meanings page.
Prosperity Saddle hoodie
The Prosperity Saddle hoodie is saddle brown with a black XUSI wordmark on the chest. The back has a black pine silhouette, a red sun and a snow-capped mountain. It's earthy and bold without being loud.
Revitalize Culture crewneck
The Revitalize Culture crewneck carries our Revitalize Culture rose on the front, with stacked Cree words and syllabics around the artwork. A white XUSI logo sits at the back collar. It's the most detailed print of the three.
Our picks by use
For training
Go with the Prosperity Saddle. Our product page literally calls it a hoodie for training days and cold evenings, and at $59.95 it's the one you won't feel bad sweating in. The classic fit stays out of your way during warm-ups, and the hood is handy for walking to and from the gym in January.
The trade-off: it's only available in one colour, and brown isn't for everyone.
For everyday wear
The Rose hoodie. Washed grey goes with pretty much everything in your closet, the front pocket is useful, and the print is mostly on the back, so the front stays clean and easy to dress up or down.
The trade-off: it's $30 more than the Prosperity Saddle. You're paying for the washed finish and the design, not for extra warmth.
For gifting
The crewneck, if you're unsure of the person's size. The relaxed fit is forgiving, and a crewneck is easier to get right than a hoodie for someone who's picky about hood size or drawstrings. The front print also tells a story they can read the moment they unwrap it.
If you really don't know their size, a digital gift card in $50, $100 or $200 lets them choose for themselves. No shame in that.
For the coldest days
This one is a close call. The crewneck is described as heavier and warmer than our tees, and the relaxed fit leaves room for a layer underneath. But a hood matters when the wind is coming across the prairie sideways.
Our honest take: if you're mostly indoors or wearing a jacket over it, take the crewneck. If it's your outer layer on a walk or at the rink, take either hoodie.
Price and value
At $59.95, the Prosperity Saddle is the easy entry point. The Rose hoodie and the crewneck are both $89.95.
One small tip: shipping is free in Canada on orders of $90 or more. Either $89.95 piece lands five cents short, so if you were already thinking about a tee or a hat, now's the time to add it. You can also pick up locally in Saskatoon.
Why buy Indigenous hoodies from us
We're an Indigenous-owned shop, started in 2020 in Saskatoon on Treaty 6 territory by two brothers from a small reserve community in northern Saskatchewan. Our designs draw on Indigenous culture and Japanese style, and many carry a Cree word and a story.
When you're shopping for Indigenous hoodies, that's the part we'd ask you to care about: who designed it, and where the money goes. You can read more about us on our About page.
Questions people ask
Do the hoodies shrink?
We recommend washing cold, inside out, and hanging them to dry. That protects the fabric and the print. Skip the hot dryer and they'll keep their size and look.
Which one runs biggest?
The Revitalize Culture crewneck. It's a relaxed fit, while both hoodies are a classic fit.
Are the hoodies and the crewneck the same weight?
They're different blends. The hoodies are 80% cotton and 20% polyester, and the crewneck is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. The crewneck is described as heavier and warmer than our tees.
Can I see everything in one place?
Yes. Our full lineup of hoodies and crewnecks is in the hoodies collection. Pick the one that fits how you'll actually wear it.
